Biography

Josh started dancing at the age of three and became a part of the competition team shortly after. He quickly grew a passion for dance. Competing in both regional and national competitions along the east coast, he then got involved with Carolina Dance Masters which is a part of Dance Masters of America. He would compete and win the titles of Master, Teen Mr., and Mr. Dance of North Carolina over the next several years. This led to his attending Dance Masters of America’s National convention in New York City where he would compete in the Mr. Dance of America Competition.

After the end of his sophomore year in high school, he would attend the Governor’s School of North Carolina’s summer program for contemporary modern dance. This program opened his eyes to what dance is and could be from a performance standpoint and led to his desire to attend college for dance. He went to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and studied dance from 2005-2009. While in college he would study from many professors with backgrounds in dance companies such as Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey.

After college he moved back to Hendersonville, NC and taught tap dance at a local studio. He’s been focusing on careers in both banking and insurance but has been wanting to get back in the studio and share his love for dance, especially tap, with local youth. He looks forward to working with Momentum Dance & Events as they start their journey to become a place where children can learn to express themselves through the wonderful world of dance.
