Momentum

Momentum Dance Project is a performance based dance company. Our goal is to provide an enriching, supportive environment to teach young dancers how to grow as a dance ensemble and develop individually as artists. We want to celebrate their accomplishments and help them develop skills, artistry and confidence.

We will produce a body of work that culminates in a concert with elements such as projection and theater lighting.

We have 3 tiers for company which are Momentum Dance Club, MDP Second Company & MDP.

All Company members are qualified through invite only. This will be based on either an audition or through class observation.

Momentum Dance Club is a performance based dance company taught and directed by Olivia Hillard and Becky Ewing. This is our lightest requirements level for company that provides more individual instruction, choreography and ensemble work to give performance opportunities outside of the end of year In-Studio Spring Showcase.

Is a performance based program directed by Becky Ewing and taught by Becky Ewing, Olivia Hillard, Amaya Kinch and Jeff Ewing. We will attend 1 Convention and will perform in the end of year Showcase at the DWT. During the year we will perform in the Momentum Event Space. We will also perform at a local retirement home.

Tuition is based on hourly price. Tuition rates and show fees as specified here

Convention fees are separate and determined once we select the event.

Choreography will be provided in house at no additional fees.

Costume fees are separate and on a per costume basis. Two costumes are needed unless we have a costume in house in which case there will only be an alteration and/or cleaning fee.

Requirements

• MDP Company members must take 9-11 hours of Momentum classes & rehearsals a week schedules will be assigned and will include multiple styles of dance. Tuesday through Thursday between 4:00 to 8:00pm.
• Dancers will learn choreography that will be taught, developed and rehearsed either at a set time for guests choreographers or during the week.
• We will perform at 1 Convention/Showcase Event (next season), 1 retirement home, in studio mid year Showcase and in the end of year Spring Showcase at the Diana Wortham Theater with the possibility of additional local events.

Details

MDP students will pay the unlimited class rate. Convention fees, Guests choreography & workshops are additional. Any Company choreography by Jeff or Becky will be provided at no additional fee.

Costume fees are separate and on a per costume basis. Our company director, Becky Ewing, is a costume designer and has a costume closet. Costumes can be rented the fee will be set for the season which includes cleaning and alterations.
